Wednesday was a fantastic day! Watching Jowi give his presentation at my son's school and watching how engaged the kids were and their amazingly enthusiastic response-let alone seeing my son Fin play 'Voyageur'. Another wonderful afternoon at GNS here in Victoria - topped off by an amazing experience playing my song 'Voyageur' for Jowi on the Six String Nation guitar. Accompanied by St.Michaels University  Senior School  Choir and Orchestra was fantstic a real highlight in my musical career. See the video of the evening on the video page on this site.

Thanks so much to SMUS to Donna Williams for her work with the orchestra and arrangement, to Peter Butterfield for his work with the choir, to Tyler Beames for his wonderful Oboe solo and to all the members of the orchestra and choir. But mostly to Jowi Taylor, without whom......

Here are some of the teaching staff from Gordon Head Middle School with Voyageur.

As many of you know Paul has had the amazing opportunity twice now to play the Voyageur Guitar - the amazing Six String Nation project put together by Jowi Taylor

Meeting Jowi and playing this amazing guitar inspired Paul to write a song 'Voyageur'.

The second occasion that Paul played the guitar was at St. Michaels University School here in Victoria - he was invited to play it by the school's Musical Director Donna Williams whilst Jowi gave his presentation to the students - so when Donna heard that Paul had composed a song about the guitar and Jowi she asked if the senior schools orchestra and choir could perform it during their FREE concert at UVic on Jan 20th. Paul was of course delighted with that suggestion and so Jowi was invited back by the school and he will hear Paul, the SMUS orchestra and choir perform the song for its world premier next week January 20th at the Farquhar Auditorium . Pictures and hopefully video will be posted on the site as soon as possible after the event !
